Mystery surrounding Max Liebermann's death

Liebermann's death at the rise of Nazi Germany in 1935 gives rise to speculation as to what or who killed the artist. Liebermann was initially targeted by Nazi propaganda, dethroned as one of Germany's most gifted Impressionist. His masterpieces were confiscated from museums and his abstract art smeared as part of a degenerate movement. While, Depression had further deteriorated Max health it was speculated a cold had caused him to pass away. But conspiracies claim he was killed by the Gestapo and his death hidden as the Nazi took over media outlets. Lieberman was after all a high profile Jewish artist, who never fled Germany. Almost a third of his priceless art destroyed and the rest plundered. Many are beginning to rediscover this German master of Impression art lost in the trenches of war.
